Dan Sackheim is an Emmy Award-winning director best known HBO's "Game of Thrones", and FX's critically acclaimed drama "The Americans" on which he was an Executive Producer. 

Dan began his directing career working on such acclaimed series as “The X-Files”, "Law & Order," "ER" and "NYPD Blue" (for which he won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series).


In addition to "The Americans",  Dan has Exec Produced numerous  TV series including  “Lie To Me”, with Tim Roth, Fox's award winning "House M.D.", and NBC's critically acclaimed "Life" which started  Damien Lewis,  Some of his more recent directing credits include HBO's "The Leftovers", "Game of Thrones", "The American's", "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead", "The Man in the High Castle" for Amazon, as well as the new Netflix series, "Ozark" which stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

In addition to his television work, Dan directed the Sony feature film "The Glass House," starring Leelee Sobieski, Diane Lane and Stellan Skarsgard, and produced  "The X-Files Movie: Fight The Future" for 20th Century Fox.

Upcoming TV projects:  Amazon's "Jack Ryan" staring John Krisinski, which will drop in 2018. 

As a photographer, Dan is currently collaborating with award winning Vanity Fair Photographer, Patrick Ecclesine (Faces of Sunset Blvd) on the first ever, large scale photographic novel entitled “Slow Kiss”.  It is their attempt at bringing the infamous 1956 Noir screenplay, by a blacklisted hollywood writer, to life using  only still images.
